Terbinafine Hydrochloride (Lamisil®)

USES:
Used to treat tinea capitis (ringworm), a fungal infection of the scalp, in children ages 4 years and older.

HOW IT’S SUPPLIED
125-, 187.5-, and 250- milligram granule packets.
Also available as a tablet, a solution, and a cream.

HOW IT WORKS
Stops fungus from building cell walls.

THINGS TO DISCUSS WITH YOUR DOCTOR

* Should be given once a day for 6 weeks.
* Granules can be sprinkled onto food, then eaten.
* Use with caution in children with liver or kidney disease.
* Monitor liver function tests during use.
* Can cause headache, fever, cough, rash, diarrhea, upset stomach, liver injury, taste changes, itchiness, nausea/vomiting abdominal pain, stomach gas, vision changes and/or constipation.
