TelAbility Recognized with Community Technology Awards
Chapel Hill, NC - Outstanding contributions by individuals, organizations,
institutions, and businesses to North Carolina communities in the area of
information and computer technology were recognized on Friday, March 19, at
the RTPnet Community Technology Awards Reception. RTPnet, a Triangle area
community network, held the reception as part of its 5th Annual Conference
at The William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education in Chapel
Hill.
Eight winners were selected from the 25 nominees: The DuBois Center, GCF
Global Learning, TelAbility, Topsail Technologies, Inc., 802Link, Inc., Mary
Mehrer, Martha Ann Moore, and Thomas Savage.
"The nominations are wonderful stories of individuals and organizations that
are helping to bridge North Carolina's digital divide," said Judy Hallman,

The other nominees honored at the awards reception are: Communities in
Schools of North Carolina, Dustin's GreenHouse, Internetworkers, North
Carolina Women United, South Piedmont Community College, Students In
Training, Winston-Salem State University Community Knowledge Centers,
Women's Center of Fayetteville, AVAYA, White Street Computers, Sharon
Barrow, Paul Jones, Mark Pumphrey, Joseph N. Springer, Christian Stalberg,
Gayle Weddington, and Jerry Winegarden."
